...and in purple!

exactly the same but in purple!

Beaded Hair Comb

This is my second attempt at a hair comb - this time I've used lucite flowers and leaves which are wired and glued onto the comb. The centres of the flowers are swarovski crystal bicones and japanese seed beads. The wire is 28 gauge silver by Bead Smith. I'm looking forward to making more of these! Not bad for a first attempt using glue on the comb - I think!
Can't believe 2008 is nearly over! This has been the quickest year yet! Whatever you are doing to bring in 2009 I hope you all have a great time and wish you all the best for a Happy New Year!

Red and Gold fushia earrings

A complete change from my usual silver findings - I think I prefer these copper effect ones.

dagger and drop necklace

Made this to go with the earrings.

Drop Earrings

These earrings are inspired by the drop earrings on page 56 of Creative Beading by Juju Vail. Really simple to make. I think the stones here are tigers eye.

Beaded Hair Comb - first attempt

Jewelled hair comb - first attempt at wire wrapping. After having a go at this I've ordered a book on tiara making. I've used fire polished facetted beads here rather than swarovski so it's not as sparkly as it could be - I wasn't sure how it would turn out as a first attempt. Good fun to make though!

Bobble the Christmas Parrot

Sarah and "Bobble". This parrot is fantastic - he's the bird of paradise from The Puppet Company Ltd. Sarah has a great time playing with him - it was giggles all round!

Tracking Santa

I know everyone probably knows about this but just in case you don't! You can track Santa's progress around the world on the NORAD site - so cool! Santa is in Tasmania at the moment. What a busy man!

Merry Christmas!

Birthday girl

Used DCWV "Sweet" again. This really is a fabby stack - the colours are great. This image is coloured using copic ciao markers.

To match the bracelet..

Made this to match the charm bracelet I made a while ago. Love this mix of colours - very festive! The way I've finished this off is different for me.. usually I have two tails - thought I would try having just one this time!

Just Because...

Isn't he just toooo cute! Coloured in water colour pencils. Flowers are Prima - I've added silver lined seed beads as the flower centres - just for a change.

chocolate and blue

This elephant is so great to colour. I used promarkers to colour him. Papers are Bazzil, DCWV "Sweet" and a scrap of vellum I found. "Happy Birthday" is Penny Black.

In the pink!

Something nice and bright! I love this stamp! Coloured here using water colour pencils. The paper is from DCWV "Sweet".

daisy friends

chocolate and blue

I can't get enough of these Prima flowers! and these in blues and browns are so gorgeous! The papers are from the new DCWV "Sweet" stack. She's coloured with Marvy's and a watercolour brush.

Aubergene & Moss necklace

Well, at least its a change from earrings! This necklace is made from glass pearl beads - 12mm in aubergene, and 8mm in moss green. There are czech glass facetted beads in between. It's threaded on Beadalon 7 strands, in satin silver (.38mm). I should really make earrings and a bracelet to match.

going to try something different!

I treated myself to a crafty christmas pressie - something totally different - a felting kit! (I got the needle kit as well incase I'm no good at the wet felting!)
I had a good google around and found one on gilliangladrags.co.uk.. It won't arrive now until after christmas so it's something to look forward to! Here's a pic of the kit...
... and the kind of thing I can aspire to make (somehow I think this will be a steep learning curve - but you never know!!)
Watch this space!!

Purple and pearly!

More earrings!

Where is Murphy?

I should know now before I ask the question "where's Murphy?". This must be his favourite spot!

Blog Facelift!

Felt it was time for a wee change - so this is my new look blog background and header. Out with the old and in with the new!!

simple flower loop earrings

Trying new things again!

Something different - lucite and jewellery glue

First attempt at using jewellery glue - dries fairly quickly! This brooch is made out of lucite flowers and leaves, and couple of pearls. Its not that great a picture and I'm sure I will get better with a few more attempts!

And while I was waiting for the glue to dry completely I made this altered box for the considerable collection of lucite beads that I now seem to have! The papers are Stella Ruby from Basic Grey.

The very last one!!

Made for a work colleague.

Bead Crazy - more earrings

I really really need to get back to cards! Or at least stop making earrings and make something different!

A spare 20 mins

I am totally amazed at how long it takes to make a card when I can do earrings so quickly!

time for a new playlist

Well I seem to have been listening to this same playlist for ages... I need to make a new one but I need some inspiration!

Old faithful!

This is getting to be such an old faithful of a card - especially when I have to make a card in a hurry! The only difference this time is that I used the Pazzles to cut the name and number.

last ones!

These are the last of the family cards. I seem to have been making christmas cards forever! I love these images though - the snowman is watercolour pencils and the carol singers are copics and promarkers.

Rockstar!

Whooo! Just got tickets for Nickleback at the SECC in May next year! You know when you are getting old though.. you choose seats instead of standing!

a change of colour!

All the cards I've made this year seem to be purples, blues, pinks and silver.. so here is a change!

Ladybug and friends

and another one!

For Sarah

Whew! now that the orders are out of the way I can do some family cards!
I love this image - its fun!
