It's Challenge time again!

Hello!

It's challenge time at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends!

We have two amazing sponsors this month.  AMB Illustrations and Crafty Girl Creations!

I had the choice of a digi image from Crafty Girl Creations and I choose Ornaments 2.  I choose it because I thought it would be great to colour - which it would.  Then when I printed it I had a completely different idea.  The detail on the image is so gorgeous I decided that I would run it through my Minc with some gold foil and the result.. well, I love it.  It's so Chrismassy!  The shine of the foiling is lovely!

So here is my DT card for our Anything Goes challenge #70.  Why not pop over to LPOCF and join in!

And there are prizes!

Have fun creating!

Santas Loot

Hello!

Here we are mid way through the week!  And I'm playing with the cute little Santa stamp from Stampingbella .  He's from the Littles Christmas Collection.  Great fun to colour! He also comes with a matching die although I've not used it on this card.

Coloured with a mix of Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Stampin' blends.

Now I really must do some tidying up!!

Leftovers

Hello!

I've made quite a few 14cm x 14cm cards recently which has left me with the waste from A4 kraft cardstock.  It's way to good to throw away but if I keep all the scraps then the chances of finding the craft room floor (still missing by the way!) reduce even further!  So I decided to cut a couple of the strips into 2" pieces. I used my corner chomper and one of the Stampin' Up! tag punches to make the scraps into little tags. Perfect for Christmas!  In the interests of keeping it simple I used the Merry Patterns stamp set from Stampin' Up! and stamped the reindeer with Early Espresso.  I used the Tim Holtz stamping platform to get a perfectly placed image every time.

Then finished off with some ribbons.

Pleased with myself that these didn't end up in the bin!

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing!

Simple Greetings

Hello!

Start of a new week and crafty mojo seems to be returning!   A busy day yesterday means I well and truly deserve some crafty me time!

What I really should be doing is clearing out the craft room though as it seems the floor has gone missing again! (oops!)  The problem isn't the size of the room, it's that there's too much stuff!

Today's crafty offering comes in the shape of Lil'Inker Designs, and some Stampin' Up" Designer Series Paper.

This is the Christmas Words Tree die and some Merry Little Christmas DSP.

Fun and simple to make!

Have a lovely day!

Sunday again!

Hello!
Well, here we are and it's Sunday again! Where do the weeks go?  This week has been incredibly busy; work, appointments, prep for birthdays..  and the time has just disappeared!

I did get a lovely parcel this week though, some Christmas fabrics.  The idea behind these was to make some Christmas gift bags!  Now I just need to find the time!

Advent!

Hello! Brrr, it's a chilly day here in central Scotland. Nice to get the advantage of the lighter mornings though - although that means it will be dark by 5.30ish.

I'm pleased with myself today - I've finished a project I started a few weeks back.  An advent calendar.  Mad with 25 little boxes cut using the Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box die.  This was really good fun to make, and so easy (if not a little repetitive! LOL)

Not the best pic as I couldn't get the lighting right, but you get the idea!

Now I need to decide what to put in each box!

Have a lovely day!

Tis the Season (nearly!)

Hello! Sunday already and an extra hour in bed today with the clocks going back.
Busy day today visiting family so not much crafty time.  Enough to make a quick card though.  Sticking in the Christmas space!

Now I need to see what is going on downstairs as there's a pumpkin being carved and some cupcakes being made!

Looking forward to a wee glass of Sauvignon Blanc in the conservatory before tea (as it will be dark earlier tonight!)

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Watercolouring

Hello!

Have way through the week!  And it's been a busy one!  Back to work and catching up on email etc!

What better way to relax on a Wednesday evening than a little bit of watercolouring!  This was just a mish mash of colours to see what would happen! Loved doing the text though - love how the black stands out so well!

A Wet Monday!

It's raining.. and it's "wet" rain.  You know, the small rain that soaks you in seconds!? So what better to do after going out for a lovely family lunch than to keep going with the Christmas card prep!

I think this stamp set may make it in to my top ten fav sets ever - Santa's Suit from Stampin' Up!  These gorgeous little images cut so well with the matching Framelits.  This card was so fun and easy to make.  I used my new Stampin' Blends (Cherry Cobbler) to colour.  They blend so easily.

I think I might make more of these cards!

Whatever you are doing, I hope you're having a good Monday!

Little Birdies

Hi!

Been having a quick and easy play with these little birdies!

Another Christmas Card

...using Stampin' Up! Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies. This time a DL card! Definitely not a card size I use very often!

This is a lovely die set to use. I think the effect of layering up the houses really works, and it's so easy.

A quiet Sunday

Hi!

Spending Sunday afternoon in the craft room.  Why is it when you have the time to do something you end up procrastinating?  I'm trying my best not to!  It's been a lovely week.  We've all been on holiday so have spent the week in a bit of luxury at a cottage in the Angus Glens.  Gorgeous surroundings and perfect peace and quiet!

And no trip to the Glens would be complete without a toffee coo!

So far today I've been using up some scraps of paper and made this.  Nothing fancy.  Need to go in search of my mojo now..

Have a lovely Sunday!

Better start thinking about Christmas!

Well, it's never too early! And with so many good friends and family to consider there are lots of cards to be made!   I always count myself so lucky at this time of year to have so many lovely people in my life.. and what better way to say how valued they are than to make a handmade Christmas card.
Here's my starter for ten!

This is just a selection of the 25 (or so) cards I've made so far.  I think that means I'm a third of the way there!

October already!

Hello!

Well I can't believe we're at the end of the first week in October already!  Just about to come in to birthday time in our family, then Christmas, so now I really need to get my thinking cap on about what to get for people! Always a challenge!
And we have a new addition in the family to buy for (luckily I don't think she will be too fussy!)

This is Piper and she's nearly 15 weeks old.  She's so well behaved, she's settling in so well!

I've been trying to cut back on the crafty spends (partly because I'm not doing a lot of crafting!) but needless to say, I'm not doing too well.  I had (had!) to have some new ink pads so I decided to get some of the little Hero Arts cubes..

They are lovely to work with - the colours are rich, they stamp perfectly, the only challenge I have is to find somewhere to keep them (too much stuff!)

Now I really need to get on and finish an anniversary card I'm in the process of making.

When I get this finished I can get on and play with my new toy - a complete set of the new Stampin' Blends from Stampin' Up! and the Climbing Orchid stamps and dies.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Challenge Time!

Hello!  Another month just disappears! I've had little or no crafty time recently. Not complaining, just had a busy time of it!  And as a result I think my mojo has gone into hibernation!  I've not really even been in the mood to shop! (arrgh!) although, that's probably a good thing!  Need to concentrate on reducing  the content of the craft room - not add to it!

I should probably also start thinking about Christmas cards!

But I needed to think about my immediate priority and that was the next challenge over at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends!

As always we have fabby sponsors and amazing prizes to be won.

My image choice this time is from Polkadoodles (I love Polkadoodles!).. here it is!

Little bit of a change style-wise for me but I'm pleased with the end result!

I hope you like it.  Please take the time to join our challenge

A Little Wild

No, that's not me describing the weather today!

I've finally found some crafty time and been playing with "A Little Wild" from Stampin' Up!  Taken my inspiration for this card from the new catalogue..

It's a really simple but fun card to make.  A lovely little image to colour. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Happy Saturday!

Hello!

I've been very busy today - tidying out the craft room.. So many things over the years that I just won't use now.  So I feel quite happy to make space. Not for new stuff (yet), I still have so much that I've not played with!

My head isn't quite in the crafty space just yet so I 've just tried one card - simple one layer stamping using two lovely sets from Stampin' Up!  Touches of Texture and Oh So Succulent.  Inks are Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Berry Twist.

What's been going on?

Hello!

Only one post from me in over a month!  I've not been doing much crafting. Not because I don't want to but I've just not had the chance between work, holidays and getting out and about in what has (mostly) been quite good weather!  Hopefully now things will settle down a bit and crafting normality will be resumed!

Here are some holiday pics.  3700 nautical miles in 2 weeks around the Baltic (again!) in the lap of luxury.  It's always nice to get home though.. and see the cats!

Martini's - yum.. and yes, that is ice on the bar

Feta, tomato and watermelon with a balsamic dressing - amazing

Frogs legs - not for me...  "foodie" 12 year old had them!

Tivoli Gardens - Copenhagen - we love Copenhagen!

Tivoli

Midnight sail under the Oresund Bridge (connecting Denmark and Sweden) - not much clearance for a ship of our size - amazing to see!

"Spring" rolls.. get it??  An indulgent night in Qsine

Stockholm

Stockholm Theme Park - Grona Lund on the island of Djurgarden.  Might try the ABBA museum next time!

Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil

Tallinn

Lawn on the top deck

Lauluvaljak - home of the Estonian Song Festival. In 1988 the songs sung here led to the overthrow of Soviet rule. This is the statue of Gustav Ernesaks.

Saint Petersburg - the newly built Krestovsky football stadium (it wasn't there last time we visited!)

Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood.  What an amazing sight with the blue sky - it was grey last time!

Ceviche

Peterhof

Peterhof Palace - the Russian Versailles

Submarines

Just a small ice cream in Warnemunde

Not a bad view

Martini bar - play time!

Goats cheese - amazing!

The giggling babies - the source of quite a few "big" wins!

Martini Flights

So, now that the holiday is over will things get back to normal??

No..

More on this little lady in future posts!

It's nice to be back.. now, crafting.. where to start??
